Facility Description
US Storage Centers of Torrance, California is a modern and clean self storage facility with the most up-to-date security system. Many of our customers say that they rent with us because they feel at home when they visit their self storage units, and they enjoy their interactions with our managers.
We believe that great customer service is achieved when you combine friendliness and knowledge. For example, we had a customer who was unsure of what size storage unit she would need because she had never used storage before. We invited her to tour our facility and assured her we would find the size that would fit her needs. She visited our facility that same day and we were more than happy to show her a variety of storage sizes.
What impressed her most was that that we took the time to show her five different storage units to make sure we found her the right one. She was able to see how knowledgeable our staff is, and she commented on the cleanliness of our property and on the security features in place. That same day we were able to rent her the appropriate size for her valuables, and we reserved a date for her to use our free move-in truck. She was so happy to know her valuables are being stored at our facility, and said she would refer her family and friends.

Convenient Location
Our facility is located in Torrance along the border with Carson. We are right off the 110 freeway on Carson Street. Our major cross street is Vermont Ave. With such a central location, we serve customers in the surrounding communities of Carson, Lomita, Gardena, Harbor City, Alondra Park, Lawndale, Wilmington, and Long Beach.
For those of you familiar with the area, we’re located less than a block from Harbor UCLA Medical Center, and we’re right across the street from In-N-Out Burger.
Facility Description
Our facility is made up of three buildings, and they’re easy to spot because of the light, peach colored stucco, with tasteful, turquoise stripe accents.
There is one extra-wide gated access point at the front of the property located next to the office. We have had semi-trucks enter with ease. The drive aisles are wide, allowing for simple loading and unloading, and a stress free drive.
Storage Units
The storage units at our facility come in a variety of sizes starting at a 5’ x 5’ units, for boxes and totes, all the way up to 10’ x 30’ units that are able to comfortably hold the contents of a four bedroom house.
If a unit larger than 10’ X 30’ is needed, we can make virtual conversions that will meet our customer’s needs. A virtual conversion means that we take two or more storage units, usually located next to or near each other, and create more space for you. This is a great option because it allows customers to compartmentalize their items. For example, you might pack all of your furniture in one unit, and in the other you can place items that you need to frequently access.
Our larger units are drive ups, which is like having a personal garage. The smaller units are located inside on levels one through three.
Spacious elevators and flat carts are available for added convenience.
Free Move-in Truck
A free move–in truck is available to use. It’s equipped with a ramp and a refrigerator dolly. Just let us know when you’re planning on moving in and we’ll reserve the truck for you.
RV Storage
We offer outside uncovered RV parking. Two optimal sizes are available: 10’ x 20’ and 10’ x 30’. Parking space width may vary from spot to spot. Please call the property manager for more details on Parking Space sizes.
Security
Our security features consist of 24-hour video camera surveillance. A tenant’s personalized code is entered into electronic key pads located at the gate to gain entry into the property. The facility is always well lit and has a resident manager for added security. High quality stainless steel disc locks are also available for an affordable price.
Languages Spoken by Managers: All of our mangers are fluent in English and Spanish.
Payments Accepted: We accept Cash, Checks, Money Orders, Visa and Master Card.
The Community
Carson and Torrance are beautiful suburbs, located about 13 miles out of Los Angeles. Many homes, restaurants, and shopping centers make up the community. The Del Amo Fashion Center, only eight minutes away from our location, is considered to be one of the top 10 malls in Southern California.
Locals also enjoy watching two Major League Soccer (MLS) teams, the LA Galaxy and Club Deportivo Chivas USA, as they compete in matches at the StubHub Center.
Today, the Goodyear Blimp has a landing pad in Carson that is a great attraction to visit, along with the International Printing Museum, which houses one of the largest antique printing presses in the United States. And another bit of interesting history: The area near California State University at Dominguez Hills was the location of the first air show in the United States. The Great Air Meet was held in January 1910 and it featured aviators from around the world.

I was pleased with the ease of the reservation, the check-in process and how helpful and kind Felix was with every step. The location was very clean as well.
Just rented a 10x20 unit around mid August for storing furniture while remodeling the house then 10 days or so at end of the month of August I wasn't able to use the storage unit due to some kind of construction. 3 attempts of trying to contact the property manager but got a company representative all 3 attempts who said they would sent a message to the property manager to return (contact) me after giving my name and phone number but never received a call back as of yet "TODAY - August 28".

Well I’m not really sure because I just wanted to get a new unit to save money but they didn’t want me to do it ao now I am just taking it out to move to another storage who has nicer people who are in the front. I mean I get it it’s a job but no need to be a b**ch and not be nice like at least look at the person when talking it etiquette. I don’t know I work front office we weren’t allowed to frown or make sound in front of our guests no matter how rude they can be

I have been a loyal customer for almost 8 years, never missed a single payment as I am on auto-pay. When I decided to close down one of my units due to their rapid increase in rent cost, thats when I felt cheated by this company. I closed down one of 3 units I was renting mid month, only for them to cancel out my other units as well. It took over an hour for them to fix their error. They said as a courtesy they will take off 50% of 1st month rent since they had to create a whole new contract for my other 2 units. Well since I am on autopay, I paid in full for the 3 units beginning of January. So my first month for the remaining 2 units I am renting should be in February. February came and I was charged full price with no discount. I went back to the management office and questioned it. The lady at the front kept looking at me like I was dumb for not understanding her explanation when I kept on telling her no discount was applied for either January or February bill. I paid full price. She insisted that discount was applied to January rent. Invisible discount? I called next day to speak to property manager and he said he will look into it. It has been 3 days and have not heard back.

I worked in customer service for 15 years and i have also worked with several other companies that had great customer support and service but it seems that today customer service is a dying art so to speak. I almost never get offended when service is bad because I’ve come to expect it. Then I met Felix at the US Storage location in Torrance off Carson Street. I had spoken to Feliz several times as I had rented a storage back in October and each time o think to myself what a nice guy he’s is always so helpful and polite and smiling. I had to rent a second unit as I transition out of the original one I rented which Felix helped figure out what I need to do to secure it. When I walked in and asked to speak with Felix the manager Felix says “that’s me!” Always cheerful and smiling.
Felix is why I would continue the rent here even if I found a better rate elsewhere because of Felix. Felix is a rarity that you don’t see everyday and that is excellent customer service. US Storage is quite lucky to have him.

The staff is great! They really try to help, and have been able to instantly and satisfactorily answer any of my questions. I interacted with Felix and Christina on separate occasions, and was delighted (after having to wait for over 1/2 hour each time, because they were alone and had other business to take care of).
The only problem is that when there is only 1 person on duty, and that person has to leave the office for a grounds check or helping a customer or potential customer or lunch or whatever else could be the reason, we customers have to wait an indeterminate time to get service.
I do have to say that is is discouraging to a customer. Please do NOT use this as a criticism of Felix or Christina (they are both fantastic), but rather a way the facility/company can improve customer service. Plus, it seems you run Felix and Christina ragged. Not a good reward for being superior quality employees.

My experience was very pleasant. I came in on a Saturday morning at the first of the month so it was understandably busy. However, the staff member Christine, who was on duty was very friendly to me continuously thanked me for my patience and handle the crowd with calm. I would like to give recognition where it deserves. Ana, displayed above and beyond customer service. Myself and my help arrived in the afternoon on Friday to unload our belongings for the first time after obtaining a storage unit the week before. We immediately started unpacking the haul truck that I rented. 30-45 min after unloading the portion that would go in first in the unit. We discovered that the rental lock as still on unit. As my helpers continued to unload from usual off I went to front office. The office had just closed and Ana was in her car just about to leave. I explained my delima, she said everything was shutdown and alarmed. I asked for the manager but he was not on premises at the time. She saw that I was in a bind and seeing this was companies error for not removing lock. She made a call to the manager again. The result ? On her own time opened back up office , turned off alarms and got the keys from the safe to go and lock unit for me. Thank you so much. True Customer service is so lacking these days but not with Ana. I hope this gets to the right people so they can see sometimes you have to step out of the box to help make things right.

On-site staff and management are extremely helpful and friendly. The location is convenient and the units are spacious and quite affordable at the moment. It would be nice to have the truck for move-in be available but unfortunately, it’s been out of order for a long time now and I was told there’s no ETA when it would be available again.
One issue that arose during one of our move in was when a cyclist got inside and circled around the area. He noticed an unattended bowling ball we left to prop open the door as we were moving things to and from the storage, and he took it. Went to front desk and confirmed with the video cameras that it was the cyclist. It didn’t matter as much for such little thing, and we still think that it’s quite safe to use the unit in this location. Staff suggested doing a police report but it would have been more work for such small inconvenience at that time.
All in all, still a great US Storage location with great support from staff and good surveillance in the area. Highly recommend.

Due to pandemic I was not allowed in the office. Upon arriving at the storage facility I was greeted by Emily. Speaking to her through the mail slot was a bit awkward. Despite all that she made my experience quick and easy. Within minutes I had access to my unit. Thank you Emily for your help me.

It was a pretty straightforward transaction. I knew what i needed and you had it. The staff are friendly enough. I would recommend, though that signups be done not at the counter where the customer has to stand for a long time, but at the desk, so the customer could sit comfortably while your agent does the paperwork.
The rep, wanted to Kimberly, was awesome. She was professional and kind, her willingness to assist with patients but most of all that big smile of hers that makes you wanna keep coming back to US STORAGE and of course referrals. I just hope that they do get the same treatment. I think she has been employed with for roughly 3 months and should get a raise! Good employees are hard to find.

the staff are nice and very helpful. the facility is clean. The only problem i had would be the trash bins, since i wanted to dispose some items there are no trash bins available in the facility. But that's okay. It was a nice experience and would definitely go back when i need the service.

Randy did a superb job at checking me in despite the cumbersome remote terminal for electronic signatures. It appears tjhat use of a normal computer with paper to sign and then scan would have sabed 10 plus minutes of my time in the check-in process.

Service and facility is great however, the elevator is very slow. Cost me additional 2 hours of cost for movers. I should have looked for first floor units.
Easy going Joanna was very helpful and made everything go very well. She's always smiling and loves what she does.
Overall the service has been good. The grounds and buildings appear to be clean. Joanna at the Carson location is the best!
