I cannot say enough about how incredible my experience was at Morena Storage—particularly thanks to Lindsey Henderson. After an exhausting search, calling multiple storage facilities only to be met with offshore call centers that had no clue how to actually accommodate my needs (but sure knew how to upsell), I was ready to give up. That’s when I found Morena Storage, and the difference was IMMEDIATE.
From the very first call, Lindsey was an absolute rockstar. Not only did she answer my questions with expertise and clarity, but she also took the time to actually listen—something that seems rare these days. Exceptional Service and Outstanding Staff – Highly Recommend Morena Storage!
I highly, highly, highly recommend this storage facility!
This is my third time renting at Morena Storage on Sherman Street in San Diego, and my experiences here over the past four years have always been fantastic. The reason I keep coming back is simple: outstanding customer service, a well-maintained facility, and a team that truly cares about their customers.
My most recent experience, however, stood out even more—thanks to Dawn, the new property manager. I had some concerns about my storage unit due to challenges that arose from staff transitions, but Dawn went above and beyond to ensure everything worked out smoothly.
When I fell behind on payments due to a medical issue, I was genuinely worried that my belongings might go to auction. Dawn reassured me every step of the way, personally reaching out to corporate on my behalf to ensure my unit remained secure. Even though corporate took longer than expected to respond, Dawn remained patient, professional, and incredibly supportive. She stayed in constant communication, helping me navigate the situation with kindness and understanding—even during moments when I was feeling overwhelmed.
On the day I came in to finalize my payment and move out, Dawn once again provided phenomenal customer service. She made sure everything was in order and truly went the extra mile to help me. I cannot thank her enough for her dedication and compassion!
I also want to acknowledge the amazing team at this location. Lindsay was incredibly helpful both over the phone and in person. When I visited the facility, she was welcoming, made sure my messages got to Dawn, and even reminded me about the complimentary refrigerated bottled water—small gestures that made a big difference. Arianna, whom I only spoke with over the phone, was also very kind and professional, always making sure my concerns were addressed and passing along my messages promptly. Their genuine friendliness made a stressful time much easier. Additionally, Julie from corporate helped coordinate a small discount through corporate, which made a huge difference for me in covering my final storage bill and moving truck rental.
The new team at Morena Storage is absolutely fantastic, just like my past experiences here. Their personalized customer service and commitment to their clients truly set them apart. I am beyond grateful for their help, and I will always remember the kindness and professionalism I experienced here.

Today when I met with him, he was very personable as he explained the locks and led me to my unit. Friendly and knowledgeable guy and wonderful service here. We will definitely use Morena in the future. In addition, they have transport carts by all of the elevators. All of the entrances are locked and monitored by video cameras in the office. Made me feel safe about storing things there.
My husband and I are so happy we chose Morena Storage to have our belongings tucked away for few months.

We have been at Morena for many, many years. Current management (under new ownership) is trying very hard to make customers happy. (When ownership originally changed a few years ago, huge problems began to appear).
TODAY, new management is (thankfully) changing things for the better, starting with • a few new rolling carts • responsiveness to customer needs • attitude of helpfulness expressed by some staff.
Although prices are skyrocketing everywhere for every little thing we buy, management is trying to keep increases to a minimum.
The reason for deducting one star: I wish that the their contract included a clause to control rate hikes. Something like: "your rate will not increase for one year" and then will not increase more than 2%" or something similar.
Location is spectacular for anyone living in/near downtown San Diego and surrounding areas. Access is easy. Cool breezes from the ocean on hot days, and this is a CLIMATE CONTROLLED location, which is fantastic.
I miss the old Morena Storage when there were people to help you if you needed to move boxes, a moving van to borrow when you move in, free coffee (and sometimes fresh baked cookies) :-(
Hopefully, current management (FEB 2024) will not change, and will be allowed by ownership to bring Morena Storage back to near-former glory as the BEST in San Diego County.
It is doubtful that loaner or rental vans will be offered, and that coffee or cookies will ever be offered again (LOL) but we can dream, right?

I'm 42yrs, & Yes Thank You, I'm Aware that I Still Got it...lol, j/k.. But so let's get to the Brass Tax of things. I've been a Morena Storage Unit Owner for about 18-20yrs consistent. I've gone through prob about 3 different ownerships over the years. Some I have conversed with and some I haven't.. I understand that as human beings, we sometimes have good days & bad days, whether we're at work or whether we're a customer on the other end..
If you happen to be someone in the market looking for a Great Storage Unit Renting Company, or are a New Tenant, Morena Storage is the Best!!
You might go check & read the Reviews of the place, from different individuals from different times, and you're wanting to know what were/are their personal experiences..Well you might come across a Bad Review or two about this place (I'm speaking of @present time), or about certain employees at this place..I can most like guess that any one of those Bad Reviews you're reading, is just a spiteful complaint written from a pouting reviewer, that felt like the Staff had treated them horribly for some odd reason.. Well I'm here to tell you & I'd put money on it, that most likely that Disgruntled Reviewer either acted out of character bec of not following the rules, and bec of their self-entitlement, they were the initially Rude ones to Management first..And bec they didn't get their way or whatever, they felt the need to defame the establishment and/or worker(s).
I've witnessed them Cussing Management out at the top of their lungs, while other customers & children were present, all bec they were asked nicely to please lower their music from their vehicle that they were blasting at it's highest DB (volume) bec it's disturbing the peace..
I too have had a misunderstanding or two...and instead of acting like a fool with a foul mouth, I calmly spoke w/ Maturity & Respect to them, bec it was me that was in the wrong, on the day of the 5th of July 2023. I won't say what it was about, but bec instead of me talking trash & being disrespectful, I ended up just walking into the Office and giving a genuine apology to understanding my fault, and then Thanking The Manager named Sara for working w/ me and being unbelievably fair when she didn't have to..She never yelled at me or threatened me once, and even helped me out with the issue I was having..To whom I am grateful for..
Just like how great The Manager Sara is, this other lovely employee by the name Junie (I'm sorry if I spelled wrong), she was also nothing but a sweetheart to me, and actually allowed me a privilege (that's private ), that's she didn't have to do..
The Manager Sara, and her Employee Junie, actually relieved me from an Anxiety attack that I couldve gone through, if I would've done the opposite of not communicating with them the bind that I was in..
Sara & Junie are Both Hard Working, Beautiful Individuals I'm blessed to have gotten to know, that have to run a business that sometimes comes w/ unreasonably disrespectful customers coming by that throw tantrum fits when they dont get their way, and even though they'll call the ladies names..Sara & Junie have always stayed Professional, and handled those situations like a Boss..

My movers, who came in a moving van, pulled right up to the loading dock & voila! So easy. I highly, highly recommend this facility.

Great prices and good size storage units!! It was super simple to get all set up! It literally took 10-15 mins and bam I got myself a storage unit!! I wanted to make sure that what I'm looking for will be affordable and fit my possessions in comfortably. he was detailed, thorough and you don't see much of that in today's customer service. one thing I was appreciative for was his honesty by letting me know what my best options would be for a unit. I strongly encourage you to ask for Anthony when needing services.

Cinnamon is the BEST! She helped me in a last minute pinch. She went out of her to wait on me, and help me load my items into my storage. This is by far the best storage unit you can utilize. Staff is kind and helpful. They provide detailed information about the unit and maintenance. Additionally, they offer dollies, boxes, mattresses covers, and everything else to make your transition smooth. Above all else, you’re things are safe here with cameras and required sign in on every visit. Anthony was my go to and should be yours, but Cinnamon holds it down as well. Don’t look elsewhere, this is the spot!!
Moving can be stressful period. I appreciate the level of service at Morena Storage. Sierra and Junie were the calm in the midst of the moving storm. Sierra answered all of my questions and made the registration process quick and painless. Junie showed me around the building and made me feel that my belongings were safe in their care. Shout out to Sierra and that 25% off my first month!

Wow! I don’t know what else to say. The service provided to us today by the manager, Anthony, was truly above and beyond. He knew I found myself in a strange bind with a shipment I received and went out of his way to help me and my son to problem solve and even undo the crate and help me get it to my truck. Over the top grateful. Truly five star service and Anthony was so friendly and supportive all the way. Absolutely the place for you to select for all your storage needs.

Me and my bestie went to go do that rent a storage task... which had always been im my past dealings miserable. I was instead placed in a very easy comfortable smiling Ann's pleasant to talk to girl. Junie was a fresh breath of air. Very informative and very knowledgable about her job. And I felt very comfortable and at ease with getting these storage. It is a clean... very well lit property. The smell was pleasant and clean. No dirty halls and hand prints every where. They said climate control and that's what we'd have. Well lit and clean storage units with high ceilings and friendly staff. Good security system with lots of cameras and everyone signs in and out. It was more affordable and nicer than the other storage facilities nearby. I’m very satisfied with this temporary storage service.

Excellent customer service offered here! They give you a cold water bottle right when you walk in, the strong men who work there help you to put your stuff into/take your stuff out of your storage unit, AND you get a free moving truck and helper when you first rent a unit (a free service that you can use whenever you want, doesn't have to be right away), PLUS the helper helps you place and organize your things into your unit. Very helpful & courteous men there, very high security, very well maintained, and easy to access to the units by using the freight elevators and dolleys & carts provided free to the customers. Highly recommended!

We needed a storage unit for a move and Pamela helped us find exactly what we needed. I've used several other self storage facilities in the area and this is the cleanest and most secure to date. The price is a little higher than some of the others but the benefits for that extra is well worth it. The units have lights, they have a secure check in system, and plenty of carts for any moving. Well worth the cost for the service provided.

Signing up was simple and I had a unit and key in no time. The whole staff is friendly and helpful. They also sell boxes and packing products right there to make everything simple. The price is great, the location is safe and easy to access, and the staff is really helpful. If you’re thinking about getting a storage unit, this is the place. I wish more businesses were as customer focused as Morena Storage. They even have fresh baked cookies daily!

I couldn’t be a bigger fan. I have rented temporary storage units here and in Solana Beach for various moves over the years, and both their customer service and the quality of the facility at both locations is unparalleled. Come for the free water, fresh baked cookies, free truck & moving helper and stay for the exceptional business practices. I wish more companies were as helpful and straightforward as this.

I was very impressed with the speed and efficiency of Morena Storage. I set up the storage space reservation online and it only took a few minutes at the office to get all the paperwork completed. On-site help was available to assist in moving my belongings into the locker. Excellent service!

This is the best storage unit in town. We were able to borrow a truck and Jim helped us pack all of our stuff into the truck and into the storage unit. He was a huge help! Everyone that works there is super helpful and always offers a free water when you check in.

Love that place!!!! But no exeptions from the manager who not care about your problem and want to spent even 30 min for which you offer to pay him even double hour time wright now. Before I was think that offer show the whole deep of situation in which you are and shows how urgently I need some help and everything depends only from you buddy ...
But stop!!!! I never complain for that place!!! Manager refused in caseits a new year and he must be done with personal duties, even if me havent to celebrate it...
Look, they cut some instinctual things and I honor I found them and I definitely will use them again and again! They provide you brave guy or two, or three if you bring a hundreds of lbs of your staff or even movers you hire bring it, doesn't matter!. And team they provide strong physicaly and smart! To get that brave team to help you pass that way you have faster you need to have a rent a unit. Its like a PRIME OR A+ thing which they provide you for free just in case they honor about YOU are chose them!
ALSO THEY HAVE A DOCKS TO UNLOAD OR LOAD YOUR PERSONAL THINGS (IT'S TIME AND TIME IS MONEY!!!!). IN FRONT OF THAT ANOTHER THING LOOKS LIKE MUST HAVE BUT I FOUND THAT ITS REALLY SECURED (THAT WORD COVER A TONES OF PROCESSES THAT WORK HERE AS A SWISS CLOCK) AND CLEAN. FOR THE LAST I FOUND THEY HAVE SOME HUUUGE UNITS THAT DEFINITELY WILL FIT EVEN WHOLE YOUR 4 OR MORE BEDROOM HOUSE STAFF.
I really hate to talk a lot, but the way they use, how they trained and friendly doesnt give meeven a small chance to explain in couple phrases how good to be a customer of that business!
Bring the truth thru the times-
"We Help Take the 'SELF' out of 'SELF STORAGE"!!!! I feel it and it cost more than time and money!!!

They're almost always holding some sort of promotion so prices are great. Customer service is stellar, they absolutely want your business and will go above and beyond to make you feel like a valued customer. The only negative I've experienced is that their computer system is slow and on the fritz, so monitor your bank transactions just in case. The staff knows this is a problem and do their best to fix the issues as soon as they are brought to their attention.

When I was refused a quote from A-1 Storage and was desperate to find somewhere to unload a 26 ft truck containing everything I we owned, Nate came through for me! I got a SUPERIOR discount and SUPERIOR service, including help with unloading, free coffee and water and the nicest people I've met in a business in a long while! DON'T LOOK ANYWHERE ELSE!!! THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!!! THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING! !!!

Don't go anywhere else. The staff are amazing the customer service is unparalleled. They help you load and unload,give you bottled water with every visit and they wash your windshield while you work. Friendly and a nice place.
They offer truck and 1 helper to help load, and help with organizing storage unit so everything fits. Staff is very polite and helpful every time you vist the facility.
I had a helper named Angel. He was just that! There is NO WAY I could have done it without him. He was truly a godsend . Not only was he very professional he was so well organized and efficient. I would have bet money that all the "stuff" wouldn't fit into the storage unit. Angel took his time and filled every nook and cranny to ensure everything would fit. He even stayed over our 4 hour time frame to make it happen. Don't forget to tip these "helpers" as they earn it!

When I did my research shopping around, I did not find another storage place that actually helps you move your stuff from car to unit. WOW! Having Fibromyalgia, I greatly appreciate this more than I can say.
They even provided me a cold water.
Here is what I love in a business: when you show up and what they have promised is delivered and bonus, if expectations have been surpassed.
Here they have been! You will love them too, I bet!

Great company - I flew into San Diego to help my son put his stuff into storage since he was being deployed. They were great! The provided a truck and 1 helper that was kind and professional. They helped me pack the truck and protect the furniture. They also helped load the locker so everything fit!

I am very impressed at the way the storage facility runs. Friendly service, free bottles of water, free help, coffee and tea, cliff bars for sale for ravenous customers like me...pretty much all I could every ask for when renting a storage unit.
Most of all the service and care was pretty amazing. Ask and you will receive.
