Furniture gets wrapped. Clothes folded. Plates cushioned. Electronics? They can get tricky. To protect your valuables from any potential damage, we've put together the most detailed, analytical wrapping tips. Tell us what you think of them on our Facebook page at facebook.com/usstoragecenters 1. Use your cell phone or take a picture with your digital camera of the wiring (audio, speaker boxes and other cords hiding behind the electronics) so you remember how to put everything back together. Use plenty of light and focus to insure the pictures are clear and easy to understand. 2. When wrapping, it's always best to use the original packaging if available. It was specifically designed for that unit and is as cushiony as it gets. 3. Overly fragile electronics can be packed in a box with a good amount of biodegradable packing peanuts. Then pack that box in a larger box, filled with biodegradable packing peanuts as well. The two-box system does an incredible job at isolating your items from impact. 4. Wrap each cord very carefully with heavy twist ties or rubber bands. Avoid throwing unwrapped cords into boxes as they will get tangled and caught on other items. 5. Consider using a label maker and labeling the end of each cord. It will help point out exactly which cord goes where, and make putting things back together a piece of cake.
