Keeping Our Pool and Lawn Chemicals Out of Reach

Before we had our first child last year, my husband and I cleared the house of all the unnecessary chemicals that we found there. I started cleaning with natural stuff like vinegar and lemon juice, and we just got rid of the toxic stuff that our baby might be able to get into when she got older. We figured that we might as well get started now!

Using Our Garage Space for Gardening Gear

When last summer became the summer of the garden at our house in Hialeah, we needed some space for all the gardening gear we were going to use to plant and maintain our huge garden. We wanted to keep everything in the garage, but with all the random stuff that was in there, there just wasn't room for everything! So, we started checking out Hialeah Storage options to try to find one that would work well for us. That's when we found US Storage Centers Hialeah Storage

We thought about actually just using it as an off site garden shed for a while, and keeping all our gardening tools and equipment there. But then we decided it would actually be easier and more efficient to clear out the garage and to use that garage space for the gardening gear. After all, the garage was full of many things that we only needed to access once in a while, whereas we would be using our gardening stuff on a very regular basis. (Probably more than we would like to at first!)

They may not be the rock bottom prices in town, but they gave us a combination of affordability along with a bunch of other things we were looking for, such as security and good customer service. We felt like we were getting the most bang for our buck out of a US Storage Centers Hialeah Storage location, as opposed to many of the other self storage locations in town.

Using Our Garden Shed For Gardening

The home that we bought here in Hialeah five years ago has this charming little matching garden shed out back. It's really adorable, but until recently, it wasn't ever used for anything like its original purpose. The shed was, instead, filled with any manner of random knick knacks and stuff that we didn't really have a place for in the house but didn't really want to get rid of.

Well, this winter I decided that it's time to get that garden shed cleared out so that I can actually use it for gardening! Even as I went through the things in the shed, though, I knew I wasn't going to be able to get rid of enough stuff to really make a difference in the amount of stuff there. That meant that I couldn't bring all the things in the garden shed back in the house just get clear out that space. I had to get a little more creative with what I decided to do to clean out the garden shed.

After looking around for some different options, I decided that the US Storage Centers Hialeah Self Storage location on 16^th would be the perfect option for where I could store my things in order to make more room in the garden shed. I trusted the opinions of these friends, so I decided to go check out the place for myself.

I must say that I was really quite impressed with the US Storage Centers Hialeah Self Storage location. The layout was nice, and everything was clean and tidy and well-kept. There are lights and cameras everywhere, which are great for safety at night and also for keeping away would-be thieves.

Also, the manager of the Hialeah Self Storage location explained that the place also had a very simple but effective security system. Basically, every unit had an individual alarm. I would get a gate code that would let me in the front gate while simultaneously disarming the alarm on my unit. When I used the same gate code to go back out the back gate, the unit would rearm. If someone tried to open the unit without first punching in the gate code, then the alarm would go off, alerting the manager to the problem.

The security system was really simple but it seemed like a really effective option. Besides the great security system and obviously good customer service – as shown by the very helpful US Storage Centers Hialeah Self Storage location manager – the place had some great prices! They were really competitive, and they offered lots of different unit sizes so I was able to meet my needs and stick to the ideal budget I had set for myself when I started the quest to find storage so I could clean out my garden shed.

Finding a Place for My Urban Gardening Supplies

Urban gardening is all the rage right now, and I decided to jump on the bandwagon this spring to start a little balcony garden of my own. The great part about urban container gardens is that you don't really need a ton of stuff to get started, and it's not expensive.  I don't need a tiller or a mower or a trimmer or any of that – just some potting soil and compost and basic gardening supplies.

The issue is that my tiny Miami Gardens apartment doesn't even have room for those basic supplies! When I first thought about starting a garden, I was having trouble thinking about where I would keep everything, since every shelf and closet space in my apartment is full. I even use the spaces under the couch and bed for extra storage!

Lucky for me, a friend in the area suggested that I check out US Storage Centers Miami Gardens Self Storage location to see if they could give me the extra space I needed to make my urban garden work. I went there on a Saturday afternoon to talk with the manager, a little skeptical that they would even have units small and cheap enough for me. But I really wanted to make room for my gardening supplies, so I figured I would at least check it out!

I decided not to rent one right then, though, because even the smallest unit was too large for what I needed. Add that all to the fact that they were very affordably priced, and you really can't beat that for self storage!

So, my friend and I ended up renting the second large self storage unit together. That gave us each about as much space as the smallest unit would have afforded, but it was cheaper for us both in the long run! It was great to be able to save even more money on an already affordable Miami Gardens Self Storage locker.
